Glenlead continues collaboration with the Minderoo Centre for Technology and Democracy at the University of Cambridge

As part of its collaboration with the Minderoo Centre for Technology and Democracy, Glenlead has authored, co-authored, or contributed to twelve policy reports and offered policy recommendations to the Office of Artificial Intelligence, Houses of Parliament, US regulators, and European legislators, and more is to come…

1 July 2023

Over the last 18 months, Glenlead has delivered evidence and policy recommendations on behalf of the Minderoo Centre for Technology and Democracy to the Office for Artificial Intelligence, the House of Commons Science and Technology Select Committee, the U.S. Federal Trade Commission and the U.S. Consumer Financial Protection Bureau. Dr Glenster has also authored several parliamentary workshop reports, notably on the Online Safety Bill and safety-by design, and on AI-enabled intimate image abuse.

Dr Glenster has also given evidence in the European Parliament and authored the submission to the UN Office of Secretary-General’s Envoy on Technology’s initiative for a Global Digital Compact, in preparation of the UN Future Summit in September 2024. She also co-presented a workshop on the implications of the Global Digital Compact for international law with the Lauterpacht Centre for International Law at the University of Cambridge.

Recently, Dr Glenster has co-authored a Policy Brief: Generative AI with Sam Gilbert that the Minderoo Centre of Technology and Democracy is publishing with the Bennett Institute, also at the University of Cambridge.

Continuing to focus on solution-oriented policy advice, the Dr Glenster will contribute to the Minderoo Centre for Technology and Democracy’s outputs by authoring a significant report on the regulation of deceptive design, based on her original research, and a report on the use of facial recognition technologies by the Police in England and Wales.

We are excited to continue our work with the University of Cambridge and the team at the Minderoo Centre for Technology and Democracy and look forward to the chance of making impactful policy recommendations in the UK and internationally.
